We lost a parakeet once during a move because of one cat (who herself died not too long after of natural causes). We were still setting up in the new house and we had the bird cage in a temporary spot. The cat ended up being able to push the cage onto the floor, the bird got out at some point and was killed. We'd had one or two birds and a cat for years before that, but never attempted to do so again.

I figured out how to change the batteries in the mouse. What was interesting...

Unless you have a room that you can put the cages in and keep the door shut so the cats won't go in there, it's not recommended.

We always had a cat all the same years I had my pet birds and rodents, but the door of my bedroom where I kept them was always shut and the cat didn't go in there. She wasn't a friendly cat and didn't usually go in there even before I had any other pets.

I want mice and birds, but I have five cats, and one of them is kind of mean :(

Maybe. I know I've seen litters of rats in pet stores that are all different colors. Some solid white, some solid black, and others with gray splotches or the hooded variety. The hooded kind are my favorites. Every rat I ever owned was a hooded rat.

How does the albino thing work when it's only one parent? Would only some of the babies have had white fur?

They must've been the same sex, or else you should've ended up with a lot more.

I had a really fat mouse like that once. We had it in the same cage together with a wild mouse we had captured. It was funny how the white mouse was obese it's whole life while the wild one never went overboard with the food.

They got along really well. I think my wild one thought it was in the same cage with a living white fluffy pillow.

This mouse gets really good battery life, especially considering how much I'm on the computer. I hope this keeps up because it took me an hour to figure out how to open the battery compartment and I no longer remember. Once the battery dies, I'm just going to throw my computer away and get a new hobby.

I can tell the mouse in that picture is a pet. They don't get that fat unless they're well-fed and don't have to run around a lot. I once had a mouse for a pet that looked almost exactly like that.

Plus those kind DO have lasers. They're just used as a last resort.

They're coming to kill the mice in our store tonight. They have to go, but I feel bad for them, just trying their best to live.
